1 Interpret the findings of a variety of clinical investigations and applies these to the planning and delivery of individualised patient care whilst demonstrating a systematic approach to the physical and psychological in accordance with the HPC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics
2 Understand the difficult airway.
3 Demonstrate understanding of the equipment and techniques utilised in non-invasive and invasive monitoring techniques and the use of medical devices including the principles and practice of intravascular access and intraoperative blood salvage.
4 Monitor and evaluate the patient parameters including fluid balance, evaluation of wounds and principles of wound management in accordance with national and local guidelines and understand service users' elimination needs, including male and female urinary catheterisation.
5 Demonstrate knowledge of enhanced scrub skills including skin preparation, surgical instruments and wound closure techniques for a range of major cases and an understanding of the role of the surgical first assistant in assisting with surgical intervention.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  
6 Be able to understand the impact of human factors within perioperative / acute setting and the implications for service user safety.
