Educational aims of the programme

To enable students to understand and evaluate key contemporary debates in law, concerning a wide area of law from European to International Justice

To enable students to understand and evaluate contemporary debates in the study of law

To deepen students' knowledge of theoretical aspects of law and dispute resolution both in an International, national and a European sphere

To enable students to develop their knowledge and understanding of law

To provide students with the skills necessary to design and complete a dissertation on a specialist topic, including: formulating research questions; selecting appropriate methods of data collection and analysis (where appropriate); conducting a literature review; and presenting research according to scholarly conventions

Programme structure

Full-time

This Master's Degree programme is studied full-time over one academic year, consisting of 180 credits at FHEQ level 7*. All modules are semester based and worth 15 credits with the exception of project, practice based and dissertation modules.
Possible exit awards include:
- Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits)
- Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits)
*some programmes may contain up to 30 credits at FHEQ level 6.

Part-time

This Master's Degree programme is studied part-time over two academic years, consisting of 180 credits at FHEQ level 7*. All modules are semester based and worth 15 credits with the exception of project, practice based and dissertation modules.

- Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits)
